Saint John’s vision is to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness one family at a time. By addressing the root causes of homelessness and poverty, we help prevent the effects of these conditions from cycling into the next generation.
The Sayonara Center opened its doors in 2006 and invited kids from a very challenged community to spend their afternoons in a safe, drug-free, violence-free place. It's a place to focus on homework, eat a healthy snack, and most of all be cared for.
From our humble beginnings in 2004, as a winter only shelter program serving 40 homeless people per night, The Gathering Inn is now a multifaceted, multi-location agency serving over 185 homeless men, women and children each and every day right here in Placer County through programs at four separate locations.
